Gresham Visits UVa

UVa was no doubt hoping to impress William Fleming (Roanoke, VA) linebacker Darryl Gresham into solidifying his soft verbal commitment during his official visit this past weekend. That did not happen, but the visit did appear to have gone very well.

“I enjoyed myself,” Gresham said. He was hosted by Jermaine Hardy. “It was more than I expected. I thought they would be like trying to get me to come there, but they weren’t. They just showed me the program and told me what’s good about them. I found out a lot more that I like about the program. The football team is so close. I felt real comfortable around them. I felt like I went there already.”

The 6-3, 230-pound Gresham met with Head Coach Al Groh and Defensive Coordinator Al Golden throughout the weekend.

“Coach Groh talked to me about how I fit in the 3-4 scheme,” Gresham said. “He said they would love to get a linebacker like me in his system. Coach Golden and I watched film of old games and he showed me how the linebackers play and how I fit in.”
