Earlier today, Highland Springs’ Victor Harris , the multitalented defensive back/running back rated as a five-star recruit and the number one player in the state, announced his verbal to Virginia Tech. When you’re a highly rated player like Harris, the recruiting process can get to be a grind, and it’s good to get it over with.

“It feels good, it’s a relief,” Harris admitted after his announcement.

His choice came down to the Hokies over Michigan, Southern Cal, and Virginia. What set the Hokies apart? “I just followed my heart, to tell you the truth. I just followed my heart,” Harris said. “That’s how I came to my decision. I made that decision probably a week and a half ago. I was going to make the decision last Tuesday, but something happened, so I had to extend it. It came up about a week and a half ago, that’s when I made the decision.”

Who ended up second in the race? “Michigan. I just kind of had a good feeling about them, too.”
