1) Dominant run effort

It’s not that I think the Fresno State defense is bad, but I believe the Virginia offensive line is simply too powerful and too athletic for the Bulldogs to handle. The Cavs should look to open the running game with the pass and take full advantage of their diverse playbook, deploying screens, draws and misdirection. But in the end, do not be surprised if the ‘Hoos simply line up as they did against Syracuse and Maryland and physically dominate this opponent. FSU (West) possesses a solid defense with good speed but it is a defense that is several notches below the FSU (East) defense, as well as Miami’s and Virginia Tech’s.

2) Contain the Bulldog running game with the front seven

Stopping the Fresno State running game is essential to a Cavalier victory, and it is imperative that the ‘Hoos do it with the front seven.
