5-star Plainfield (N.J.) offensive tackle Eugene Monroe suffered a knee injury during practice last week for the Army All-American game played this past Saturday. The 6-7, 320-pound Monroe gave us an update last night on the injury.

“It’s ok,” Monroe said. “I’m going to get it checked out [this week], but it’s ok. That’s the reason why I didn’t start on Saturday.”

One of the top overall players in the country, Monroe enjoyed being around other top talents last week.

“I got along well with Jason Gwaltney, Patrick Turner… everybody really,” Monroe said. “It was pretty fun and it was a good experience for me. Practice was probably my favorite part.”
