Womack Emerges as UVa Target

The University of Virginia was the first school to offer a scholarship to 6-1, 175-pound defensive back/wide receiver recruit Trey Womack . Womack, who attends Malvern Prep in Malvern, Pennsylvania, was offered during an unofficial visit for a spring practice. He discussed his experience and the meeting he had with coach Al Groh.

“That was my first time checking out UVa,” Womack said of the spring practice visit. He plans on returning to UVa this weekend for the blue-chip junior day on June 11th. “It was a real nice campus. The players were nice. They let me sit in on one of their meetings and they treated me just like I was one of their players. I guess they felt like I had been sitting in there for awhile and wanted to see how much I picked up on everything. I did pick up everything pretty quickly.”

Womack spoke with current and former players as well as one 2006 recruit.

“I talked to Wali Lundy,” Womack said. “Matt Schaub was there and I talked to him for a split second. I talked to Pat Devlin . We play against him and he was down on a visit.”
