Crest (Shelby, NC) star Brandon Spikes has tried not to think too much about recruiting this summer. Instead, he’s focused on preparing for his senior season and clearing his mind before the recruiting process heats up again in September. The 6-4, 225-pound linebacker has taken an unofficial visit to one school, however, and appears to have enjoyed the experience.

“I went down to Florida a couple weeks ago,” Spikes said. “It was top prospect day or something like that. It was great. I’m going back, too.”

When asked if he felt like he fit in at Florida, Spikes answered “Yeah, I could see myself there.” While the Gators appear to be a very serious contender here, Spikes claims to be wide open. He has 30 scholarship offers and doesn’t plan to narrow his list any time soon.
