Chalk up commitment #8 for the Virginia Cavaliers. 6-5, 300-pound offensive lineman B.J. Cabbell received a scholarship offer from the ‘Hoos today and didn’t waste any time with his decision…he wants to be a Cavalier.

“He got an offer this morning and made his verbal commitment,” Nelson County head coach Tim Crawford said. “I think he always wanted to go there and he really, really likes the idea of playing for Ron Prince. He’s met coach Prince a couple of times and he’s met coach [Al] Groh. He just loves it and there’s something to be said for having the opportunity to go where you want to go.”

Cabbell picked up the offer a few days after an impressive performance at Virginia’s summer camp.
