We caught up with John to talk about his mindset heading into this season, as well as to get the latest on his hotly contested recruitment.

The Season…

To hear Graves talk, one wouldn’t know that Meadowbrook captured the Division 5 state title last season. But that’s what he and his teammates want. This is a whole new season for Meadowbrook. The players know it and they aren’t letting last year’s success affect this season’s performance.

“Personally, that’s behind me,” Graves said of last season. “And it’s behind us as a team. That’s been behind us ever since we stepped in the weight room [after the season was over]. We haven’t talked about the championship in a long time and we don’t plan on talking about it this year. We’re an 0-0 team just like everybody else.
