Nick’s Keys to the Game: Temple

Can we play this Temple game yet? Anything to erase or at least partially cover up the memory of the abysmal UNC game would be much appreciated. The sad thing about the North Carolina game was watching the tell-tale signs of disaster unfold so painfully in front of me. Conservative? Yep. Scared? For sure. Emotional? Didn’t see it. I can’t understand how, coming off a huge win against FSU, the ‘Hoos could come out and play timidly against the Tar Heels.

A lot of the blame should be placed on the coaches for the terrible play-calling and overly conservative approach, but the players have to play like the superior team physically and they never made that statement. The excitement of the fan base nearly bottomed out after the defeat, but all is not lost. Let’s take a look at what Virginia needs to do to get back on the right foot against a horrible Temple team this Saturday. Temple doesn’t pose much of a threat at 0-9, and being outscored 409-86 on the season, so these keys are mostly about what Virginia needs to accomplish going into the homestretch.
