Harris Leaning Towards Spring Decision?

Last week, Virginia, hoping to fill its fourth spot in the 2006 recruiting class, hosted one of its top targets in 6-6, 230-pound small forward Will Harris . The official visit experience went very well, with Harris now trying to decide whether to sign in the fall signing period or to wait until the spring. TheSabre.com caught up with Brewster Academy (N.H.) head coach Jason Smith for the latest on his star small forward.

“Virginia leads, but Will is a little hesitant to make a commitment right now,” Smith said. “Virginia definitely leads, but he’s apprehensive about making a quick decision. I think he’s leaning towards waiting until the spring [to make a decision]. He hasn’t set any other official visits.”

Other schools showing heavy interest include Boston College, Depaul, Georgia, Miami, Providence and Seton Hall. Coach Smith indicated that several schools have had concerns about Harris’ recruiting history – Harris asked for a release from Nebraska after signing last fall and recently de-committed from Connecticut after committing earlier this summer. Smith addressed those concerns.
