Malvern Prep (Malvern, PA) standout defensive back Trey Womack followed through on his plan to make a decision before Christmas, as he has verbally committed to the University of Virginia over offers from Northwestern and Rutgers. The 6-0, 175-pound Womack has favored Virginia throughout the fall and, yesterday, finally did what many expected he would do.
“I committed yesterday at 11:15 [a.m],” Womack said. “Really, I decided to commit now because it was a sensitive issue in terms of timing and, basically, Virginia is a school that’s been at the top of my list throughout the process. I felt it was time to make a decision.”
Womack had an outstanding official visit experience on the weekend of November 4th (the Temple game). The comfort level he felt with the players and coaches was evident and a big reason why he ultimately committed.
“My official visit was the 3rd time I’ve been down [to UVa],” Womack said. “So it was the third time the players had seen me. All the players know me pretty well and it’s easy to make friends there.”
