Hyde Update: Two on Top for 4-star Campbell?

4-star offensive tackle/defensive end recruit Bruce Campbell , who helped Hyde Leadership to a second consecutive state championship title with an outstanding and gutty senior season performance, has an official visit scheduled for Maryland next weekend. It could be the final official visit for Campbell, who would have one more official available for him to take.

“I think Bruce is down to Virginia or Maryland,” Hyde Leadership head coach John Acquavita said. “That’s just the feeling I get. There has been some thought that he might take an official visit to Penn State, but I don’t think that’s going to happen.”

Campbell has taken official visits to Nebraska, Virginia and Michigan State. Maryland has been a team near the top of Campbell’s list since the beginning, so do the Terps have an edge?

“I’ve always thought Maryland was a school he liked from the get go,” Acquavita said. “But he was impressed with his visit to UVa. I’m sure the primary recruiter not being there anymore had an effect, especially for a kid like Bruce who is so into relationships. I know he was somewhat concerned with that. But, he knows Virginia offers a great degree. He thinks of Virginia highly because of the degree.”
