For the second time in as many days, the University of Virginia football program has landed itself a verbal commitment. And both commitments are projected to play safety. Today, the Cavs scored a verbal from 6-1 1/2, 192-pound Winston Churchill (Bethesda, MD) safety prospect Matt Leemhuis .

“I made the decision last night and I called the Virginia coaches this morning,” Leemhuis said. “I told Anthony Poindexter that I was committing. He said this is the happiest he’s been in six months (laughs). Then I talked to Al and Mike Groh. They just congratulated me and said they were happy to have me.”

Virginia got the nod over the University of California at Berkeley.
