Offensive line is an area the UVa staff is looking to address in this year’s class, and the staff has gotten off to a solid start in that department with today’s verbal commitment from 6-6, 282-pound prospect Brad Hallick . Hallick, a star for Pottsville High School (PA), chose the ‘Hoos over Vanderbilt and becomes the 10th player – and the first offensive line prospect – to commit to the 2007 recruiting class.
As a junior last season, Hallick earned all-region and all-league honors for his performance along the offensive line. He saw time at offensive guard and offensive tackle his junior season.
Hallick comes from a football family, as his father was an offensive lineman for Lehigh University. An excellent student as well, he carries a 4.0 grade point average and is eyeing a major in the field of Medicine.

Two-sport athlete…
One thing coach Groh seems to note when discussing his offensive line recruits is the other sports those recruits have played besides football. Hallick is a multi-sport athlete as well and also participates in track and field, specifically the shot-put and discus events.

2007 Recruiting Class…
According to a source, UVa wants to take at least three offensive line prospects in this year’s class. Landing Hallick is a very good start, as his versatility is a strength and he could potentially be plugged in at any of the offensive line positions.
Including Hallick, here is what the 2007 roster will look like…
Seniors: Marshal Ausberry (G), Ian-Yates Cunningham (C), Jordy Lipsey (C), Eddie Pinigis (T)
Juniors: Branden Albert (G), Eugene Monroe (T), Zak Stair (T/C)
Sophomores: Will Barker (T), Patrick Slebonick (G),
R/S Fr./Soph.: Billy Cuffee?, B.J. Cabbell
Freshmen: Brad Hallick (G/T/C)
There are plenty of offensive linemen targeted in this year’s class, so UVa seems to be in good position to be able to land a minimum of three prospects. In-state, Virginia has offered Hylton’s William Alvarez , Clover Hill’s Blake DeChristopher , Manchester’s Khalil Latif and Stone Bridge standout Andrew Nuss . There are a number of out-of-state offers as well, including East Meadow’s (N.Y.) John Elliott and Coolidge (D.C.) standout Lamar Milstead , that UVa is in serious contention for.
