Scouting Report: Miami, Game 2

(For the scouting report from the first Miami game, click here.)

Against Miami, at this point in the season, putting together a typical scouting report (breaking down X’s and O’s, talking about personnel tendencies and philosophies, walking through offenses, defenses, favorite sets) would be useful only to a very small degree. The Hurricanes’ personnel can be summed up quickly and simply. #33 McClinton: Caution flammable! Deep threat. #15 Clemente: Jet quick PG! Makes them go. #32 Asbury: Capable, streaky scorer! Loves dribble pull-up shots. #21 Collins: Long, athletic post! Shows only flashes of strong play. The team and its circumstances are just as plainly stated: Will defend mostly man and mix in some zone. They beat N.C. State at home and lost to Wake by five on the road. Any more than that, in my opinion, would be putting too much focus on Miami.
