Revisiting UVa’s "10 Key Questions", Part I

Entering the 2006-07 season, Virginia fans weren’t sure what to expect from the men’s basketball team. The first year of Dave Leitao’s tenure had produced promising signs with a better-than-expected ACC finish and an NIT berth, both solid step forwards for a program that won just four ACC games the year before.

Most outside observers projected this year’s UVa team as a middle of the pack conference team and an NCAA bubble team. Now that March has arrived, we know those projections missed their target. Virginia tied for first place in the ACC and is an NCAA Tournament lock. Surprising or not, the Cavaliers’ success this season revolved around team basketball – defense, offensive screening, rebounding, and so on.
