Of 6-9, 290-pound left tackle Jimmy Bennett , West Potomac (Alexandria, VA) head coach Eric Henderson boasts, “I’ll probably never coach another kid like him again.” Certainly, Bennett is West Potomac’s top 2008 recruit and has received scholarship offers from top 1A programs. But Henderson boasts several other prospects to keep an eye on as well.

“Jimmy is the prize and everybody comes around and sees him,” Henderson said. “The nice part about it is that it opens up possibilities for our tailback, Josh Wells. He rushed for 600 yards last season. He runs track and he has improved his speed. I feel like he could be solid there on the next level. Also, our junior wide receiver may be emerging as a possible top five receiver in Virginia. The Penn State coach asked, ‘who is that kid?’.”

Wells is 5-9, about 180 pounds. In his junior season, he rushed for 1,609 yards and nine touchdowns. He runs track and has posted a 100 meters time of 10.9 seconds. According to Henderson, Wells ran in the 4.4s in the 40-yard dash at the Nike Camp in Baltimore earlier this year. Clemson, Illinois and Vanderbilt have taken notice and have been sending letters. 1-AA programs are extremely interested, but they aren’t sure if Wells will get past the 1A programs.
