Having received eight scholarship offers, Christ School junior forward/center Miles Plumlee is a player fast on the rise in the 2008 men’s basketball recruiting ranks. The University of Virginia is one of the schools that has extended a scholarship offer and, following an unofficial visit, the 6-9, 205-pound prospect is very interested.

Plumlee’s father, Perky, is excited about his son’s success thus far on the recruiting trail…success that has really picked up over the past few months.

“It has been a fun time in his life and for all of us,” Perky Plumlee said of his son’s recruitment. “He has been a late bloomer. He was getting some interest last summer. He could shoot the ball well and he was long and lanky, but the interest was nothing to a level where schools were starting to make offers to him. We are certainly interested as parents to determine where he fits into the college basketball scene. He has made significant strides in the last year. The second half of his high school season, he had some big games and his team ultimately won the state championship.”
