A Final Look at UVa’s 2007 Class

Coach Leitao and company were unable to land coveted power forward Patrick Patterson in the spring signing period, meaning the Cavs’ class consists of the four prospects signed in the fall signing period. But that does not mean that the class hasn’t improved. Three of UVa’s four recruits rose in PrepStars.com’s final player rankings, with two of the three settling in the national top 100 list.

Rob Harrington, Editor of the Recruiter’s Handbook and PrepStars.com, discussed UVa’s 2007 haul.

“I value this class more highly than we do officially because I have guys being a little better than we have them ranked,” Harrington said. “It’s a solid class, whether you’re talking to me or talking to [PrepStars.com Talent Evaluator] Brick [Oettinger]. I think it’s a little better than solid because I think three of those guys are safe bets to be contributors. They still need the one big-time guy if they can get him. Virginia obviously has the person they have in mind in [rising senior recruit] Ed Davis , if they can get him.”
