6-7, 290-pound OL/DL Corey Lewis has wanted to commit to the University of Virginia since being offered by the Cavs at the beginning of June. He has made several unofficial visits to Charlottesville this month, each one bringing him closer to a commitment. Today, he went ahead and committed to head coach Al Groh.

“I made my decision,” Lewis said. “I committed earlier today. I just had to talk to everybody, which took a while since they were running camp. I talked to Coach Price. I spoke to Coach London. I spoke to Coach Mike Groh. I spoke with Coach Al Groh. The very last coach I spoke to was Coach Borbely.

“They were all really excited. Coach Groh said I am a player with a lot of potential. He said I’m going to make them bigger, faster and stronger.”
