Isaiah Hamlette had just visited Virginia Tech and Wake Forest, respectively, the weekend of June 9th and 10th. The Brooke Pointe (Stafford, VA) defensive end had scholarship offers from both programs and was leaning towards making a decision between the two. He decided to take the UVa coaches up on their offer of visiting for the June 16th Elite Junior Day, though, and now the Cavs are a finalist along with the Hokies and Demon Deacons.

“They showed me their stuff,” Hamlette said of UVa.

“They said their football program has been all right the last few years, but now it’s a new era. They said they are going to do some special things in their future. They gave me a lot of attention. They told me they are putting a lot of money into the program. They are upgrading the locker room with plasma TVs and things like that. They talked about that stuff, but the big things were the academics. My parents like that.”
