Trey Womack played against Marc Verica ‘s high school team twice.

Mike Parker and Trey Womack may not start a game this season, but do not underestimate their importance to the success of Virginia’s secondary. These two redshirt freshmen are eager to show what they can do on the field and each will likely make contributions in the nickel package on long-yardage situations as well as on special teams.

“[Parker and Womack] have been working hard,” said Vic Hall, who is expected to start at one of the corner spots with Chris Cook at the other. “They understand that they are part of this defense and that there are opportunities for them.”

Womack, who has been getting second team reps behind Cook in camp, is looking forward to the possibility of actually playing in games on Saturdays rather than just watching as he did last year.
