After racking up nine interceptions last season as a junior, Phoebus (Hampton, VA) standout Reid Evans was perhaps known more for his defensive talents heading into his senior season. But this year, especially with opposing teams not throwing in his direction most of the time, he has been able to make most of his big plays on the offensive side of the ball.

“I’m doing real good on offense,” said Evans, who estimates that he has over 500 yards and close to 30 receptions for an undefeated Phoebus squad this season. “This year, other teams aren’t really throwing to my side of the field when I’m playing cornerback. I am still doing good at cornerback and real good at receiver.”

Prior to this season, the 5-11, 170-pound Evans had received an official offer from Elon. He is hoping his performance this season will turn more heads and equate to scholarship offers down the road. The University of Virginia is one school that continues to monitor his progress.
