Henry Clay Prospects Impressed by UVa

Two top football recruits out of Henry Clay High School (Lexington, KY) – senior wide receiver Aaron Boyd and junior center Samuel Simpson – were in Charlottesville over the weekend. The talented prospects enjoyed their experiences at the University of Virginia, a school both players have received scholarship offers from.

The 6-5 1/2, 200-pound Boyd, younger brother of former Kentucky star quarterback Shane Boyd, is on Virginia’s top remaining targets list according to Henry Clay head coach Sam Simpson.

“They want Aaron,” Simpson said. “They said they wanted a big receiver in this class and he is definitely somebody they want. What Aaron has to do is to make the effort to want to be there. One of the things that is so special about Virginia is getting the best of both worlds. You get a top flight education and also top flight exposure to the highest level of football. I know he was really impressed with the visit. He had a great time on Friday. He got to see players and talk to coaches. He got to be in the locker room.”

Boyd has to improve academically in order to get to a level where he could get accepted by UVa Admissions.
