Following last Friday’s huge win over North Allegheny in the WPIAL Quad A Playoffs, Gateway (Monroeville, PA) 5-star linebacker Shayne Hale had the weekend to celebrate and to rest. He cancelled a previously scheduled official visit to Michigan in order to recover from Friday night’s win and also to prepare for the Quad A Championship Game this week. Michigan may not get another shot now, as the resignation of head coach Lloyd Carr may put the Wolverines out of the race for one of the country’s top defensive prospects.

“As of right now, I’m really not sure [if he will visit Michigan],” said the 6-3, 220-pound Hale.

Over the past few weeks, there has also been a question with respect to Ohio State. Ohio State had been firmly been one of the favorites, but the senior standout hadn’t heard from a Buckeyes coach in “a while.” That all changed yesterday, and Hale says Ohio State remains in his top list.
