Sherando (Stephens City, VA) junior quarterback Ross Metheny attended junior days at the University of Maryland and the University of Virginia over the weekend. The 6-3, 190-pound prospect did not come away with a scholarship offer from either school, but he believes his first Division 1A offer could be on the way soon.

Metheny discussed his time in Charlottesville for Sunday’s junior day.

“I had been down there a couple of times. I’ve seen it before, but the facilities are second to none,” Metheny said of UVa. “The coaches took the recruits on a tour of the McCue Center, the locker room, the stadium and the weight room. It was good to see those again and to talk to all of the coaches. The quality time I spent with the coaches was good. It was really informative. I learned things about the university and the program that I didn’t know before. They went over the academics and how the university helps to assist you with the academics. They also told us what we would get out of a Virginia degree. Then we went to the basketball game, which was fun.”
