The University of Virginia football program picked up its second verbal commitment for the 2009 recruiting class earlier today, almost four weeks after Signing Day for the 2008 group. Chancellor (Fredericksburg, VA) running back/linebacker Dominique Wallace is the second high school junior to commit to the Cavaliers, joining Harrisonburg star athlete Alex Owah .

“I have verbally committed to UVa,” said the 6-1, 220-pound Wallace. “There is not another college that has everything I want like Virginia does. Virginia has the location, education, football program…everything.”

Wallace has made several unofficial visits to Virginia within past months, with the most recent being for yesterday’s junior day. He was close to committing at the event before finalizing his decision today.
