A top athlete at St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, Ohio, Dan Fox finished sixth in the region in the 110-meter hurdles in outdoor track last season, just missing out on qualifying for the state tournament. He also plays on the varsity basketball squad. However, his best sport is football, a sport he earned earned all-district honors, all-area honors and all-state recognition last season as a junior for his play at the strong safety position.

“Dan is a nice sized young man,” St. Ignatius head coach Chuck Kyle said. “He is about 6-3, almost 6-4. He is a 3-sport guy. He is very athletic. I think he has huge upside because he is a guy that can put more weight on. He lifts, but by playing three sports it is tough for him to gain and keep on a lot of weight. Colleges see a nice sized guy who is athletic with the frame to be 245 pounds and still be very athletic. He also has very good grades and that is an important thing.”

Fox, who played last season at about 215 pounds, racked up 76 tackles and added three interceptions on the year. He was also used as a tight end in short yardage situations on offense, but his future lies on defense.
