Jeff Jones knocked down a pair of 3-pointers vs. ODU.

One of the bigger storylines in Virginia’s 80-76 victory over Old Dominion on Monday in the College Basketball Invitational was the play of Jamil Tucker and Jeff Jones . Both players scored in double figures as they combined to can five of UVa’s nine 3-pointers. It continues a recent streak of strong play for Tucker and perhaps a sign of growth for Jones, according to Cavalier coach Dave Leitao.

Jones opened the season as a freshman starter before giving up that role in the middle of the season. Another line-up shuffle placed him back in a starter’s role down the stretch. But nothing seemed to provide a consistent spark for Jones and his offensive touch, something he was known for coming out of high school as a prolific scorer.
