This past Thursday through Saturday, the University of Virginia played host to Grant (OR) senior point guard Paul McCoy . The 5-11, 175-pound was in Charlottesville on an official visit, which was also his first ever experience at UVa. McCoy came away impressed by the experience, but he still plans on making two more official visits before he makes his college choice.

“Virginia was more than what I expected,” said McCoy, who made the visit by himself. “It was a lot nicer. Living down there wouldn’t be a problem. The environment was calm and cool. The weather was nice. Charlottesville is a nice little place.”

Virginia head coach Dave Leitao extended an official scholarship offer to McCoy prior to the trip, and on the trip he explained his vision for the talented guard. In 2007/2008, McCoy averaged 16 points and six assists per game in leading Grant to a 6A state championship.
