Q&A – Tennis Team’s Dynamic Duo

The postseason guide for Virginia men’s tennis states it pretty clearly: Either Somdev Devvarman or Treat Huey now owns every Cavalier career record. Devvarman is the career leader in singles wins (150) and combined singles/doubles wins (273). Huey is the career leader in dual match singles wins (96), ACC singles wins (36), doubles wins (131), and dual match doubles wins (93). In every category mentioned, the other ranks in second place.

Devvarman and Huey are also the first Hoos to win at least 30 singles matches in all four years of their careers. In addition, they are the career leaders in doubles wins as a team with 115 in their matches together.

The team has won a school-record 30 matches for two straight seasons as well. The last box on the checklist? A National Championship. Devvarman and Huey, along with fellow senior Ted Angelinos, will try to help Virginia accomplish that feat in Tulsa starting on Friday. The dynamic duo is in the spotlight for this Question & Answer session.
