Panther Creek (Cary, N.C.) rising senior guard Earnest Ross attended the University of Virginia’s Elite Basketball Camp on Sunday and felt he performed “very well.” His performance has not yet resulted in an official scholarship offer from head coach Dave Leitao, however, but Leitao is expected to update the 6-5, 210-pound prospect very soon.

Before the Tar Heel state standout left for home, he met with Virginia’s head coach. According to Ross, Coach Leitao is planning to be in touch in the next week or so to provide an update on a potential offer. The Virginia staff has indicated that they have two scholarship offers for the 2009 class.

“Coach Leitao talked about how much he enjoyed me as a player from what he has seen,” Ross said. “He thinks of me as a great person and he feels my intangibles would be a good fit to the Virginia basketball team. I think I could fit in good with them. I haven’t gotten an offer, but if they offer they would be high on my list.”
