The University of Virginia’s tremendous spring and summer recruiting run continued today, when the Cavaliers received a verbal commitment from 6-5, 260-pound defensive end prospect Justin Renfrow . Renfrow, a standout from William Penn Charter High School in Philadelphia, is the 17th rising high school senior to commit to Virginia. All but two of UVa’s commitments have come in the spring and summer.

“I committed today,” said Renfrow, who returned home yesterday from Virginia’s camp. “They offered after seeing me at camp on Tuesday. I had decided that I wanted to go there if they offered.”

Connecticut, Duke, North Carolina, Stanford, Temple and West Virginia had also offered Renfrow, who tallied 56 tackles including eight sacks as a junior last season. A good athlete, he averaged a double-double in points and rebounds for Penn Charter’s basketball team this past season.
