Hoo Preview ’08: Q&A With Fells-Danzer

Terence Fells-Danzer could be in the mix for playing time this season as a redshirt freshman.

On paper, redshirt freshman Terence Fells-Danzer is the kind of player coaches dream about. Full of potential, fast and with quick feet, Fells-Danzer spent the better part of his redshirt year trying to convert his raw skill and athleticism into a more polished product. The 6’1″, 242-pound linebacker is still learning the position, which as JHoo pointed out in his Summer Reading series, has a “steep learning curve” under Al Groh.

But Fells-Danzer should come along and when he finds his comfort zone, his strong instincts and athleticism will take over and he should be a playmaker before too long. Recruited out of Culpeper High School, the former track and field standout has tools to impress at Virginia. Despite a crowded depth chart, Fells-Danzer is ready for action and should get to see some playing time in 2008.

Even his teammates have noticed his progress.
