The 2008 season is almost upon us and as in past seasons, I plan to discuss with you on a weekly basis what I learn about the Hoos in each game. That in turn begs the question of what I hope to learn over the course of the season. Let’s see if we can limit that list to only 10 for now …

Will Peter Lalich emerge from the quarterback race as the starter?

1. Who will be the quarterback, now and for the future? When Kris and I first discussed my Summer Reading columns, I mentioned to him that I might choose to reverse my usual order, starting with the safeties and finishing with the quarterbacks. Given the turmoil in the quarterback competition from the beginning of the offseason until now, perhaps I should have gone that route. The funny thing is, despite all that turmoil, things now may be starting to head back to where they started, so to speak.
