Duke Scouting Report: Offense & Kicking

Offensively, expect to see very similar offenses to what Cutcliffe ran at Ole Miss and Tennessee – a very aggressive yet disciplined attack coupled with a strong running attack. Everyone remembers the Mannings and Tee Martin but Cutcliffe also coached great backs like Deuce McAllister and Jamal Lewis.

Cutcliffe has brought something else to Durham that has been missing for more than 15 years and that’s a winning attitude. Duke has opened the season 2-1 with a 31-7 win over a very good JMU team (that defeated reigning FCS National Champion Appalachian State over the weekend) and a 41-31 triumph over Navy. Since 2002, Duke has scored more than 30 points in a game just six times. The question for a Virginia team that has spent the off week in turmoil after a 45-10 beat down at the hands of UConn and the dismissal of starting quarterback Peter Lalich – can it shut down the Duke attack?
