Recruiting Notes

It may be too late at this point, but Virginia’s offer to Woodberry Forest (VA) senior athlete Ed Reynolds II is back on the table. Previous head coach Al Groh offered the 6-3, 200-pound senior but decided to pull the offer once a pair of defensive backs – Kyrrel Latimer and Pablo Alvarez – committed to the Cavaliers. Yesterday, new head coach Mike London made his pitch to Reynolds, who is the son of former Virginia linebacker Ed Reynolds.

“Coach London stopped by yesterday,” Woodberry Forest head coach Clint Alexander said. “He did a great job. The kids loved him.”

London offered Reynolds and senior defensive end/linebacker Aramide Olaniyan , who has committed to UCLA. If the Cavaliers can sway either prospect, Coach Alexander believes the likely one would be Reynolds, who has yet to make his college selection.

“I think Ed has always been interested in Virginia,” Alexander said. “He told me yesterday he’ll certainly give them a look.”
