Hermitage (Richmond, VA) linebacker Clifton Richardson are two of the top juniors in the state of Virginia, and both were in Charlottesville last Saturday for UVa’s football recruiting junior day. The two prospects seemed impressed by Mike London, who is no doubt looking to make a splash in what will be his first full recruiting class as Cavaliers head coach.

Grant open to Virginia

Of Virginia, the 6-3, 220-pound standout says his “whole perception changed when coach London got there,” as the previous staff did not express heavy interest. Last Saturday’s experience only enhanced Grant’s feeling on London, who has the Panthers star believing the Cavaliers program is headed in the right direction.

“Coach London talked a lot about character,” said Grant, who made the trek by himself. “Coach London’s focus is to make you a man. Football will be there, but you have to have good character and get it done in the classroom.”
