Q&A with Mike Rocco

On Sunday, Liberty Christian Academy (Lynchburg, VA) quarterback Mike Rocco became the 17th player to commit to Virginia’s 2010 recruiting class. The 6-3, 208-pound senior, who had originally committed to Louisville, goes in-depth on his decision, new Virginia offensive coordinator Bill Lazor and the opportunity to play quarterback at UVa in a “Q&A.”

A 4-year starter, Rocco, who also played safety in high school, threw for over 2,000 yards and 24 touchdowns as a junior but missed the first half of his senior season due to injury. The injury, a broken left arm and dislocated left wrist, occurred in the first drive of LCA’s first preseason scrimmage of 2009. Rocco returned to throw for 900 yards and 12 scores while leading the Bulldogs to the VIS state championship game.

Rocco made an official visit to Virginia last weekend and committed on Sunday afternoon.
