Virginia One Of Five Offers For Harrison

Center Marshall Plumlee has been on the University of Virginia’s radar for quite some time, but another Christ School (Arden, N.C.) junior has caught the eye of Cavaliers head coach Tony Bennett. According to Christ School head coach David Gaines, Virginia is one of five schools to officially offer 6-4 swingman Demarcus Harrison.

“Coach Bennett was here one day to see Marshall work out,” Gaines recalled. “During the course of the afternoon, he asked me, “Who is this kid?’ He recognized him from the summer. It was Demarcus. He came back the next week, but he called before he came. He said he loved Marshall but added that he couldn’t stop thinking about how well Demarcus played. I told Coach Bennett that I thought Demarcus had great upside. Coach came back a week later and offered him. Because Demarcus is a very good student, the appeal of UVa is way up there, but the family hasn’t visited yet.”
