Tight ends coach Scott Wachenheim is among the liveliest coaches on the new Virginia football staff.

For as long as Anthony Poindexter was on former Virginia coach Al Groh’s staff, Poindexter clearly led the coaches in the number of times that onlookers commented with thoughts like, “What a character!”

With the new staff that Mike London has brought in, Poindexter has some competition, including tight ends coach Scott Wachenheim. From bellowing, “Hope you’ve got your tail pads in!” as the Cavaliers warmed up for their first spring practice, to talking smack to exhausted offensive linemen while participating in team sprints, Wachenheim’s voice is not hard to pick out.
