Bailey, Burbank Discuss Commitments

UVa’s football program has picked up two solid commitment in the past two weeks, from offensive lineman Ross Burbank and defensive end Diamonte Bailey . The state of Virginia duo took some time to discuss their decisions.

Decision An Easy One For Diamond Bailey

UVa assistant coach Jeff Hanson called Hermitage (Richmond, VA) head coach Patrick Kane on Tuesday, informing him that 6-3 1/2, 220-pound junior defensive end Diamonte Bailey was being offered by the Cavaliers. Bailey, who goes by the nickname of “Diamond”, met with his head coach after school on Tuesday, called Hanson and learned of the news. He knew he wanted to commit to the ‘Hoos and told Hanson as much, though he didn’t make it official until Wednesday night.

“I’ve always wanted to go to Virginia,” said Bailey, who also had an offer from Marshall and interest from Duke, ECU, UNC, Wake Forest and West Virginia. “It wasn’t like I wanted to commit early. I just knew that’s where I wanted to go, so I figured there was no point in waiting.”
