Redman Visits Virginia

Weeks after scoring an official scholarship offer from head coach Mike London and company, H.D. Woodson (Washington, D.C.) rising senior Darius Redman traveled to the University of Virginia for an unofficial visit. The 6-4, 240-pound tight end prospect learned more about the grounds, the offense and the assistant coaches.

“I spoke with some players and I think it’s a good program,” Redman said. “The players think Coach London is bringing a lot to the program. Coach London is looking to bring the tight end back to the offense, which I like.”

Redman did not get an opportunity to speak with Coach London, who was in Atlanta, but he may make a return visit on June 6 for the next planned junior day. He did, however, speak with several assistants including Shawn Moore, Anthony Poindexter and tight ends coach Scott Wachenheim.

“I feel they are good coaches,” Redman said. “They are cool coaches. They seem to have a good bond with the players. The tight ends coach was showing me ways they plan to get the tight end the ball. He came from the Washington Redskins and showed me some things the Redskins did to get Chris Cooley the ball.
