Manchester (Midlothian, VA) offensive lineman Jake Goins is not in any rush to make a college decision, though a commitment still seems likely to come this summer. The first-team all-Dominion district selection took time to update his recruitment and discuss when a decision could come.

“Probably by the end of the summer or the beginning of the season. Around that time,” the 6-5, 285-pound rising senior replied when asked when he wanted to commit.

Goins is considering offers from Duke, Maryland, Richmond, Virginia and Virginia Tech. He had an offer from Clemson but says the Tigers scored several offensive line commits and no longer have room. At this point, three schools are being considered the most.

“Virginia Tech, Virginia and Maryland,” said Goins, who did not name a clear favorite. He plans on visiting all three again before committing, but no dates have been set.
