Bayside (Virginia Beach, VA) cornerback Demetrious Nicholson will not commit before the start of his senior season, Marlins head coach Darnell Moore says. The 5-9, 165-pound speedster will not wait until Signing Day, but he will take official visits before making his college selection.

“We’re in the process of trying to whittle things down to maybe five or six schools,” Moore said. “He may get to make one more unofficial visit before the season starts. He is trying to whittle it down to the ones he wants to officially visit. This is not going to be drawn out, but he is being meticulous.

“Demetrious is definitely going to make official visits. He is not going to be rushed. One school tried to push him to make his decision, but he is not going to be rushed.”

It is no secret that UNC, one of two camps Nicholson attended the summer before his junior year (Virginia Tech was the other), has been at the top of the Bayside star’s list for some time. Look for the Tar Heels program to get one of those official visit spots.
