As Phoebus (Hampton, VA) gears up for a run at a third consecutive Group AAA Division 5 state championship, University of Virginia-bound rising senior Caleb Taylor is back in the starting lineup at middle linebacker. Following a stellar sophomore season in 2008, the 6-0, 230-pound Taylor missed most of last season due to a torn ACL. Preseason practice has begun and the team captain is happy to be back.
“When I had my first hit, it felt real good. That’s when I realized I was back,” said Taylor, who racked up 120 tackles as a sophomore. “It was good to be back on the field.”
