Bennett, Staff Key In Brogdon’s Decision

Greater Atlanta Christian (Atlanta, GA) senior Malcolm Brogdon arrived in Charlottesville on Saturday, beginning the first of a 2-day official visit. It didn’t take long for the 6-5, 205-pound wing guard to feel right at home at the University of Virginia.

“I got there Saturday morning and I was really shocked by the coaches,” he said. “I realized all the coaches were just like Coach Bennett. That’s a great thing. I realized the players they recruit are just like me. They are players who hold academics first, but they also want to go to the next level.”

Saturday night, “I told my mom I was ready to commit,” Brogdon recalled. “She said she didn’t want me to commit while we were there and have it be an impulsive decision. I slept on it for a night after we returned home. I felt even stronger Monday morning.”

On Monday, the Peach State standout called Tony Bennett and committed to Virginia’s 2nd year head coach.
