Two games into the Mike London era at Virginia, it certainly seems like the tight ends are back to playing a critical role in the game plan. After all, Joe Torchia and Colter Phillips have each logged significant snaps so far in 2010 and they’re contributing to both a rejuvenated running game and the receiving stats.

Look no further than the Cavaliers’ scoring drives so far this season for proof. Of the seven touchdown drives the team has put together, tight ends have caught a pass on three of them. On two of those, the tight ends caught multiple passes.
