First Impressions

I’ve noted before that one of the key factors in progress for a rebuilding team is the ability to win the games it is supposed to win. To Mike London’s credit, his team is winning the games where the Cavaliers are clearly the superior outfit and that is an important element in this club’s progress.

After falling behind early, the EMU Eagles made things interesting by scoring 14 unanswered points in the second quarter to tie the game at 14. But after trading touchdowns that led to a 24-21 Cavalier lead, UVa dominated the final 22 minutes of play and showed glimpses of what this team could be. With two of the three operations grading out over 82%, Virginia produced, as expected, its best game against a Football Bowl Subdivision opponent this season.
