Top Junior Prospect Updates Recruitment

One of only two non-seniors to make the 2010 Washington Post first-team all-metro defensive squad, Centreville (Clifton, VA) defensive end Ken Ekanem enjoyed big-time success this season. The 6-3, 230-pound prospect, described as a “rangy edge rusher” by the WP, has three FBS offers in the fold, including one from the University of Virginia.

Boston College and Duke have also offered Ekanem, who was excited to be named to the all-metro team.

“That was a big honor for me. I’m the first junior in Centreville High School history to get the first team,” said Ekanem, who had 75 tackles with 17 sacks, 10 tackles for loss and two forced fumbles in 2010, helping the Wildcats to a 9-3 record that included an appearance in the Group AAA, Division 6, Northern Region semifinals. He totaled 18 quarterback pressures as well.

“It was cool hanging out with the other players for a good two hours and asking them how the season went. I saw big Cyrus [Kouandjio], who is just huge.”
